The Role

TechPoint Manufacturing Solutions is a leading high quality electronics manufacturing company located in Melksham. With a strong commitment to building PCB-A and complex systems built to the highest of quality level, executing on-time delivery, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The Surface Mount Programmer will develop and deliver programs for state of the art Yamaha pick and place machines. The programmer will be responsible for finding the optimum balance between speed of programming and efficiency of run time. Quality and traceability is paramount to all programs and adaptability to bespoke customer requirements will be required.

About you

• Essential - Previous experience in a production role.
• Essential - Knowledge of automatic placement equipment.
• Essential - Comfortable using Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
• Essential - A personable attitude with a hands-on approach to their role, responsibilities and the wider company activities.
• Desirable - Engineering background, ideally Electronics Manufacturing.
• Desirable - Strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver surface mount programs in a fast-paced environment.
• Modify existing programs to deliver better run time, quality or for use on different equipment.
• Provide clear set up configuration instructions to the surface mount team.
• Implement a 1 to 1 correlation between part number and placement profile.
• Optimise and improve programs to reduce hand fitted items.
• Assist in other areas of production as demand dictates.
