About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead QA to join our growing team. As a QA Lead, you will play a crucial role in shaping our quality assurance strategy and leading a team of QA professionals. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products by implementing robust testing methodologies, driving process improvements, and fostering a culture of quality within the organization. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire testing lifecycle and ensuring that our software solutions meet the highest quality standards. We have big plans as a business and technology will be at the heart of it. Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Test Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies for diverse software projects, considering various testing methodologies and project requirements.
  • Define test scope, objectives, success criteria, and risk assessments.
  • Create detailed test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data.
  • Estimate testing effort, resources, and timelines for projects.
  • Oversee the execution of test cases, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of defects.

Quality Assurance Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance QA processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Champion the adoption of industry best practices and innovative testing techniques.
  • Drive the implementation of process improvements and track their effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of QA standards and guidelines.

Test Automation & Tooling:

  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Drive the development and maintenance of automated test suites for various applications and platforms.
  • Promote the adoption of test automation best practices within the team.
  • Stay abreast of emerging testing technologies and trends.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Effectively communicate testing progress, risks, and issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in project meetings, provide QA input, and advocate for quality.

Defect Management & Analysis:

  • Manage the defect lifecycle, ensuring timely reporting, tracking, prioritization, and resolution of defects.
  • Analyze defect trends, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work closely with developers to reproduce and troubleshoot defects.
  • Monitor defect resolution and ensure proper validation.

Performance & Security Testing:

  • Depending on the company’s needs, may involve leading or contributing to performance testing, security testing, or other specialized testing areas.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience as a QA Lead or in a senior QA role, demonstrating progressive responsibility.
  • Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, principles, and best practices.
  • Proven experience with various testing tools, frameworks, and technologies
  • Strong proficiency in test automation and scripting languages
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of QA professionals.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Experience with performance testing, security testing, or other specialized testing areas is a plus.
  • Experience working closely with Stakeholders and wider business
  • Experience with AWS (or other cloud technologies)
