Job Summary :

As a Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of our facilities. You will ensure that our equipment, buildings and grounds are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Your role will involve managing a team of maintenance staff, coordinating with external contractors, and implementing efficient processes to enhance our facilities’ performance.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of all company facilities
• Manage and supervise a team of two maintenance staff
• Coordinate with external contractors for repairs, renovations and other projects
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance issues
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance work
• Fault find and diagnose/repair wherever possible
• Respond to and manage the repair of any fault/breakdown. All equipment must either be; in full working order; have a planned maintenance schedule for remedial work; or the fault be logged on the system.
• Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components to ensure machinery is kept in full working order at all times.
• Controlling maintenance tools, spares stock and related equipment.
• Assessing needs for spare parts and finding most cost effective solutions.
• Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs.
• Ensuring there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns.
• Maintain the required standards of housekeeping internally and externally.
• Ensure electrical certificate and PAT testing is completed and kept up to date.
• Ensure Fire Safety requirements are being met and legislation adhered to at all times.
• Ensure drivers are effectively maintaining fleet.
• Undertake any other tasks or duties as required by Directors.

Key skills and Qualifications:

• A high level of attention to detail.
• Hands on approach - required to fault find, source parts and repair wherever possible.
• Excellent time management skills and a flexible approach.
• A good level of numeracy and literacy including the ability to use relevant computer programs - including but not limited to; Word; Excel; Teams and Outlook.
• Great communicative skills at all levels and be able to conduct themselves professionally at all times.
• Ability to formulate and follow procedures with regard maintenance and H&S.
• Familiar with all types of factory equipment including CNC machines, conventional machines and associated plant.
• Ability to work on own initiative and be driven to offer solutions to problems at all times.
• Ability to problem solve in a highly production based environment.
• A professional qualification in one of the following:-

o Electrical engineering

o Manufacturing engineering

o Mechanical engineering

o Production engineering

• OR - significant relevant experience in a similar role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £42,000.00 per year
