The Role and Responsibilities
At EnerMech we have a new vacancy for an Electrical Technical Authority. The Technical Authority will lead the Company’s drive for technical excellence, provide expert and independent input into technical solutions focusing on improving safety and optimising performance and operability whilst leading the development of new technology.
The role’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Remain up to date on industry requirements, developments and state of the art technology
- Develop, set, implement and audit globally applicable and standardised technical standards and assurance requirements for delivery of the Company’s services, ensuring these also address safety, environmental and operational requirements
- Undertake periodic formal technical assessments against company standards and optimise maintenance / assurance activities in terms of scope and frequency to ensure delivery of the required service levels. Engage with clients to ensure satisfaction with technical delivery.
- Set electrical specific competence and performance standards for the business
- Select, assess and authorise all Authorised Electrical personnel and personnel assigned to work on hazardous areas/equipment
- Take responsibility for all base facility electrical systems
The Requirements
The Technical Authority will hold a degree in a relevant Electrical engineering discipline and chartership/accreditation. They will have a proven track record in engineering support of any industry projects and facilities. The Technical Authority will also have strong leadership skills with the ability to manage change across various organisational levels. The successful candidate will have knowledge of hazardous area electrical systems and electrical control systems, including PLC based systems. They will also be familiar with electrical design, build, construction and commissioning of permanent and temporary / mobile plant and equipment. Experience of technical engineering delivery in a service-based organisation is preferred but not essential.
