The Role

As a Senior Consultant – Project Controls , you will play a crucial role in delivering expert project controls services within the utilities and defence sectors, helping clients enhance project performance through effective risk management, planning, and cost control.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Integrated Project Controls: Implement and manage cost, risk, and planning controls to support robust project governance and performance
  • Client-Focused Service Delivery: Deliver fully integrated project controls solutions tailored to water utilities and defence clients
  • Innovative Solutions & Data Integration: Collaborate with the innovation’s hub and Data Science experts to develop advanced solutions for project challenges
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage and inspire a dedicated project controls team, fostering continuous improvement and professional growth
  • Cross-Practice Collaboration: Work within a multidisciplinary environment to develop and implement project controls solutions that enhance overall project efficiency

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. We’re looking for someone with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Education & Experience: Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field with 5+ years’ experience in project controls
  • Project Management Expertise: Strong project delivery experience, ideally with PMP, PRINCE2, or APM accreditation
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Proficiency in project controls tools (Primavera P6, MS Project), cost control methodologies, and risk management frameworks (ISO 31000)
  • Commercial & Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients and internal teams, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives
  • Problem-Solving & Leadership: Strong analytical and numerical skills with a proactive approach to managing risks, optimising costs, and improving planning efficiency
