D Horne Services specialises in working on renewables projects and operational renewables sites, land and civils maintenance throughout the Southwest of Scotland and further afield. We offer ground utility and landscape management services to commercial clients including facility management company’s, local authority’s, Distillery’s and Forestry sectors. We take pride in delivering high-quality projects, ensuring compliance, and maintaining strong client relationships.
About the Role:
We are seeking an ambitious and driven Operations & Project Manager to join our team. This role is perfect for someone currently working in a similar role or perhaps you are working in a junior operations, site, or project management role who is looking to take the next step in their career.
You will oversee the day-to-day operations, ensure the smooth delivery of projects, and play a key role in managing resources, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage ongoing projects, ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Supervise site teams and coordinate workforce planning.
- Ensure health & safety standards are met and maintained across all projects and audits completed
- Prepare and manage essential documentation, including quotes, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and ISO system updates.
- Work closely with management team to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in procurement, logistics, and material management.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Implement quality control measures and risk management strategies.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and contribute to business growth.
Who We’re Looking For:
We are open to candidates who may currently be in junior site management, project coordination, or operational roles but are eager to progress into a leadership position.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience in operations, site, or project management (construction, civil engineering, or related field preferred).
- Strong organisational skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
- Ability to manage people and resources effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable:
- Experience with budget management and cost control.
- Familiarity with tendering and contract management.
- Relevant industry certifications
