Trinity Grain is a farmer-owned grain storage co-operative with three grain storage facilities in the South of England. We provide professional processing, storage, and grain marketing services, handling over 200,000 tonnes of combinable crops annually for more than 300 growers.
We are currently seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at our Shrewton, Wiltshire site. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our grain stores through maintenance, repairs, and facility improvements. Working under the direction of the Engineering Manager, you will be required to support operations across all our sites (transport between sites will be provided). This is a hands-on role within a cooperative environment, where you will uphold our values and contribute to delivering a professional and reliable grain storage service to our members.
Key Responsibilities
As a J unior Mechanical Engineer , your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Maintenance & Repairs:
- Conduct regular maintenance on all grain storage and processing equipment.
- Assist the Site Engineer and Plant Manager in implementing a proactive maintenance system.
- Carry out repairs to keep facilities running efficiently.
Improvements & Upgrades:
- Support various improvement and upgrade projects as planned by the Engineering Manager.
- Assist in modernizing and optimising grain storage operations.
Collaborative Working Culture:
- Work alongside all Trinity stakeholders to provide a professional and efficient service to our members.
- Be an active part of the central engineering team, contributing to proactive maintenance planning.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to Trinity’s Health & Safety policies, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Hold staff and visitors accountable for maintaining site safety standards.
What We 're Looking For
We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, dependable, and technically minded. The ideal candidate will have:
- Some experience in mechanical, industrial, or agricultural engineering.
- Basic mechanical skills and an understanding of plant equipment servicing.
- Practical experience in fabrication and machining.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- A positive and flexible attitude.
- A high level of attention to detail.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- UK Driving license an advantage.

Wage:
£20,600- £27,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus agreed overtime at pro-rated hourly rate.
Hours of work:
During the months of November to June (outside of the harvest period) normal hours of work are from 7.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday inclusive - constituting a 37.5-hour week.
During the months of July to October (during harvest period) you may work up to a 45-hour week, on a shift pattern basis, during the hours of 7.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Sunday inclusive. Harvest working hours may vary and will be confirmed and agreed annually prior to the harvest period.
You may be required to work weekends and bank holidays, and are generally expected to work such hours as may be reasonably necessary for the sufficient discharge of your duties/to meet the needs of the business.
