Job Summary

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a dynamic and driven individual to become a part of our Business Intelligence Team. This team is currently at a crucial juncture in our mission to empower RBC with the insights necessary for our organizational growth.

In this role, you will play a vital part in guiding the organization toward achieving its primary goals. The ideal candidate will possess proven experience or equivalent expertise in developing BI solutions, demonstrating a strong track record of successful delivery.

What will you do?

  • Complete various controls and reports as listed on the team checklist, according to the defined frequencies, escalate trends, problems, and daily progress to the Assistant Manager.
  • Attend the relevant team meetings and contribute to the team agile methodology.
  • Understand the data modelling techniques such as the Kimball methodology.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable insights.
  • Conversational in a traditional Lakehouse data stack, with understanding of where each layer sits and its purpose.
  • Understanding of CI/CD and the role it plays in a functioning Business Intelligence Team.
  • Communicate with stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of tasks and see them through from requirement to delivery.
  • Keep the team and the stakeholders up to date on any progress or blockers on the deliverables.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimise data models, ETL processes, and data pipelines using T-SQL and Python.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Degree level qualification and/or proven experience.
  • Understanding of cloud basic concepts.
  • Awareness of functionality within BI tools and star schema modelling.
  • Proven experience using SQL, Python and DAX.

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of Power BI components
