Logistics UK is seeking a Policy Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping transport and logistics policy across air, water, and rail infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to lead policy campaigns, engage with government and industry stakeholders, and drive meaningful change in multimodal freight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Logistics UK’s policy work on multimodal freight, developing strategies that influence decision-making.
  • Support and shape campaigns on transport infrastructure, collaborating closely with colleagues across the business.
  • Engage with government officials, industry leaders, and political stakeholders to represent the views of Logistics UK members.
  • Produce high-quality reports, briefings, and consultation responses, ensuring policy positions are clear and well-communicated.
  • Deliver impactful presentations at key industry events and conferences.
  • Facilitate member engagement, managing councils and working groups to build consensus on critical issues.

Requirements

  • A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in policy, public affairs, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to develop and influence policy within business, government, or trade associations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing reports, briefings, and presentations.
  • Confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders, including government and industry leaders.
  • A team player who can contribute to wider policy, communications, and commercial objectives.
  • An understanding of public policy development and how to influence it.
  • A keen interest in logistics or a willingness to develop expertise in the sector.

Bonus Experience:

  • Knowledge of rail policy and infrastructure issues is desirable.

This role offers the opportunity to shape policy at a national level while working with industry leaders to enhance the future of logistics infrastructure.

  • Regular travel may be required to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.
