JOBS TASKS/DESCRIPTION

Back2Market is a Removals, Clearance and Storage Company which also undertakes ebay sales. We currently employ 7 people, plus Paul & Claire Beddow are Directors of the business. While our Registered Address is in Yeovil, our base for work is in Sturminster Newton, DT10 2HP.

This is a very different driving job, see below for more information about what is involved. Please also be advised that flexibility with regards to finish time is essential , and sometimes with start times. While ‘core hours’ are 7am to 4pm, the nature of the work means that many, if not most days, finish later than this. Generally we will not know the finish time in advance.

Every day is different at Back2Market and it is certainly the case that no two removals or clearances are the same. A day may involve just one removal, one clearance, or a combination of a few smaller removals and/or clearances. Alternatively, it could be a day at our Depot undertaking work on our eBay and other online sales sites and work within our Storage and Warehouse areas. However, the kinds of tasks and types of work that are generally undertaken can be found below.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES/BASIC SKILLS REQUIRED

• Good time-keeping
• Physically fit and able to undertake lifting and carrying
• Team work
• Communication skills through a variety of mediums (written, phone, person to person etc)
• Adaptable & flexible. Work and priorities frequently change throughout our days, as do hours and particularly finish time.

REMOVALS

• Preparing equipment & materials for removals either that day or subsequent days
• Sorting out vehicles after Removals (blankets, equipment etc)
• Jobsheets/Walkarounds with the Customer
• Packing eg boxes, wardrobe boxes, TV & picture bags
• Loading, protecting for transit, unloading
• Communication with Customers re ‘key release’

CLEARANCES

• Preparing equipment & materials
• Unloading vehicles & sorting out materials at the Depot.
• Loading for transportation to Auction, Recycling outlets, refuse disposal sites & delivery to these.
• Undertaking different types of clearances; Residential (houses, flats, bungalows, garages, outbuildings, attics etc), Garden clearances, Commercial (offices, factories, industrial units), Single items/Small number of items or partial clearances
• Walkaround with Customers, or using their list of requirements eg Items to remain in/at the property
• Sorting out contents into what can be for re-use (eg auction, us to sell etc), different types of recycling and what is for disposal.
• Wipe-over/vacuum round of the property after clearance.

STORAGE

• Loading into Storage crates/containers, maximising utilisation of space.
• Knowledge of items we are unable to store.
• Re-loading items for onward delivery to Customers.
• Facilitating Customer access to their stored items.

CLEANING

• Understanding and working to the different levels of cleaning; Clean/wipe-over or Deep clean,
• External cleaning services (eg pressure washing),
• Carpet Cleaning
