As the Senior Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of our framework awarded recruitment agency. You will be responsible for generating new business, developing strategies to enter and grow in the healthcare sector and new markets, as well as overseeing a high-performing in office and international team. This leadership role combines strategic thinking, business development acumen, and team management skills, ensuring the company remains competitive and forward-thinking in the recruitment landscape. The ideal candidate will have through understanding of and ability to improve our existing recruitment process as well as a proven sales record within public sector.

Business Development & Client Acquisition

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to drive agency growth, focusing on building long-term client relationships.

  • Actively prospect, network, and pitch the company’s recruitment services to new clients, targeting industries and sectors aligned with business goals.

  • Negotiate and close high-value deals, ensuring revenue targets are met or exceeded.

  • Develop and implement lead generation strategies, ensuring a consistent pipeline of new business opportunities.

Market Expansion & Strategy

  • Conduct market research to identify new and emerging markets, industry trends, and competitive positioning.

  • Develop and execute strategic business plans for entering and expanding into new regions and sectors.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to refine service offerings and create market-entry strategies tailored to specific regions or industries.

  • Continuously assess market conditions and adapt strategies to capitalize on new opportunities and mitigate risks.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead and manage a remote team of business development professionals and recruitment consultants, ensuring high performance and alignment with business goals.

  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and regular feedback to ensure team members reach their full potential.

  • Establish clear performance metrics, ensuring team accountability for sales targets, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, communication, and innovation within the remote team environment.

Stakeholder & Client Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients and partners, maintaining strong, strategic relationships.

  • Ensure exceptional client service standards are met by working closely with the recruitment delivery teams to align on client expectations.

  • Work with internal departments (e.g., marketing, finance, recruitment teams) to support business development efforts and maximize success in client engagements.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Track, analyze, and report on business development performance, market trends, and revenue growth.

  • Utilize data to make informed decisions and provide recommendations to the leadership team.

  • Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: demonstrable years of business development experience, preferably within the recruitment or staffing industry, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.

  • Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of recruitment services and experience entering new markets (regional and/or sectoral).

  • Leadership: Proven track record of successfully managing and leading remote teams.

  • Business Acumen: Exceptional strategic thinking and business planning skills, with the ability to spot and act on market opportunities.

  • Relationship Management: Strong networking and relationship-building abilities with C-suite executives and senior-level decision-makers.

  • Sales Skills: Excellent negotiation and closing skills, with a history of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in CRM software, digital marketing tools, and remote communication platforms.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and influence effectively at all levels.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year

Additional pay:
