Exciting Opportunity - Join our team as a HGV Technician

We are excited to be launching a start-up operation and are looking for skilled and experienced HGV Technicians to join our team at the MTS Logistics site in Bardon, near Coalville.

As a HGV Technician, you’ll be integral to supporting the captive MTS fleet, with the potential to expand our services to other customers in the future when fully established.

The Role

As an HGV Technician, your key responsibilities will include:

• Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and other vehicles.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance in line with company policies and procedures.
• Conducting inspections to DVSA standards and preparing vehicles for MOT.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical defects, replacing parts as necessary.
• Maintaining inventory in the workshop.
• Completing all relevant paperwork and documentation to the required standard.
• Providing on-the-job training for other Technicians/Trainees or new starters.
• Identifying and escalating potential warranty claims.
• Reducing non-scheduled work and vehicle visits through efficient preventative maintenance.
• Ensuring the shift workload is completed to the required company standards.
• Maintaining a clean and tidy workshop.
• Communicating vehicle status with customers when required.
• Addressing customer queries promptly, efficiently, and courteously.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest vehicle technology through company training programs.

Shift Pattern:
We offer two flexible shift options to fit the needs of the operation:

• 4 on, 4 off shifts - 6am - 18.30pm
• Various early, late and day shifts - 42.5 hour per week

• Solid previous experience as an HGV Technician in a professional environment.
• Proficiency in relevant tools and technologies.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks, and exercise good judgment.
• Adaptability, flexibility, and a continuous enthusiasm for meeting the evolving needs of the role and the operation.
