Job Summary
What is the opportunity?
To join the Equity Capital Markets and Corporate Broking desk as an Associate. The role involves execution of ECM and a range of other transactions, ongoing coverage of corporate clients including preparing market, strategic and financial analysis, and origination of new transaction mandates and corporate brokerships.
What will you do?
- Assisting in execution of mandated deals
- Assisting in preparation of marketing pitchbooks and related materials
- Updating corporate clients with market movements and peer news
- Gathering and analysing public information to derive actionable insights for clients
- Conducting financial analysis (including but not limited to valuation, shareholder, and comparable analysis)
- Drafting marketing documents for clients and assisting clients with investor relations strategy
- Assisting in origination of new transaction mandates and new corporate brokerships
- General research on clients and sectors
- Work across sectors - this is a generalist role
What do you need to succeed?
Must have
- University degree or equivalent
- Strong understanding of financial markets and the role equity markets play for corporates
- Experience in transaction execution
- Understanding of public market investor landscape
- Working knowledge of UK Listing Rules
- Sound judgement and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with clients at all levels
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong work ethic, entrepreneurial mindset and “can do” attitude
- Advanced computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Information source experience: Bloomberg, Reuters, Capital IQ or Factset
Nice to have
- ACA/CFA would be an advantage
