We are currently recruiting caring, compassionate individuals to join our team as Registered General Nurse. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about making a difference in people’s lives, and who have a genuine interest in helping others. Compassion and good communication skills, together with a ‘can do’ attitude are vital for this important role in our company.
Reports to: Agency Supervisor, Senior Recruitment Consultant
Purpose of Role
To manage or integrate with a care team to support service users with all aspects of their day-to-day living, so they can enjoy the best possible quality of life. As agency workers you will have to integrate with permanent members of staff (and other agency workers) at homes we support, and you may need to be flexible and resilient with the ability to work independently.
Main Duties
- Ensure health and welfare needs of clients are met.
- Provide supervisory and support role for care staff, ensuring a high level of care is offered to clients on a daily basis.
- Maintain an awareness of all clients’ needs, providing counselling, advice, and practical assistance as appropriate.
- Report possible hazards to Registered Manager and take immediate action where relevant.
- Communicate with staff and other healthcare professionals effectively.
- Liaise with family and relatives.
- Report requirements for equipment to GP, Occupational Health, District Nurse, etc.
- Maintain requirements of professional qualifications.
- Report any relevant issues to Management and handover client information or issues during handover.
- Ensure storage and disposal of medication is carried out according to policy.
- Record and complaints you receive and initiate investigation where necessary.
Care Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and toileting.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as wiping surfaces and changing bed linen.
- Assist in the safe lifting, transferring, re-positioning and movement of clients using the appropriate aids.
- Observe, monitor, and record clients’ physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes or concerns to senior staff.
- Provide emotional support & encourage clients to participate in social and recreational activities.
Other Duties
- You must respect each service users’ choice about how their care and support is given and always promote their dignity.
- Ensure that those in your care are safe and comfortable.
- Read care plans and observation charts, completing any daily notes accurately.
- Perform your duties in a person-centred way enabling independence where possible.
- Give non-discriminatory care and support that values the whole person.
- Respond to emergencies, accidents, incidents, and safeguarding matters quickly and appropriately.
- Respect confidentiality by not discussing any personal information about service users or staff with unauthorised people.
Expectation
- Work in accordance with CQC regulations and Care Act 2014 at all times.
- Work in accordance with health and safety legislation at all times.
- Work in accordance with the policies and procedures at the care home you work in.
- Ensure your training is up to date and work according to what you have learned.
- Work with the office team to confirm any shifts issued to you, communicate with drivers, and provide timesheets by email or in person by 9am Mondays.
- Always comply with any Time4Care policy and procedures, follow the carers guide, uphold the core values of the company.
- Always maintain a professional appearance and attitude.

- Feedback from the homes you work in.
- Feedback from office staff, other Time4Care agency workers and drivers.
- Time taken to respond with shift confirmations and completion of training.
Training Requirements
- All Time4Care mandatory training or provide equivalent.
- We value our staffs’ Continuous Professional Development. Ensure you attend relevant CPD courses to maintain your knowledge in clinical skills and the nursing sector.
Person specification
We have provided an outline of the skills, knowledge and experience required to carry out this role.
We will use the criteria below to select suitable applicants for this post.
- 1 year nursing experience working within the UK.
- Registration as a Registered General Nurse or similar qualification with current registration with the NMC.
- Work with and manage a team including mentorship skills and leading by example.
- Approachable & sympathetic manner able to delegate and to give clear instructions.
- Able to work flexibly, adapt to a changing environment or circumstances with a positive attitude to problem solving.
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, supportive, and organised.
- Work calmly and able to remain professional under pressure.
- Sensitive to the needs of others.
- Computer literacy skills.
- IV skills preferred, including syringe driver training and venepuncture training.
- Ability to demonstrate ethical values and ongoing professional and personal growth.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £24.00-£28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 - 72 per week
