Direct Medics Healthcare Recruitment are seeking a compassionate and skilled Band 6 Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to join the Community Neurological Rehab Team in the Preston area. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced Dysphagia Trained Speech & Language Therapist to provide assessment, treatment and management to clients following a stroke within a new early intervention service pathway and routine, slower stream rehabilitation pathways and to those clients following an acquired brain injury.

Contract is up to 3 months initially with full time hours required (Mon- Fri 8.30/9:00 until 4.30/5pm). Salary from £35,392 to £42,618 a year per annum pro rata.

In this role, you will:

Travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.

Be able to manage and prioritise your own caseload and will have the opportunity to work across both the community and acute setting.

Provide assessment, treatment and management to clients following a stroke within a new early intervention service pathway and routine, slower stream rehabilitation pathways and to those clients following an acquired brain injury and other complex neurological conditions where functional rehabilitation goals have been identified.

Requirements

• Relevant Speech & Language Therapy Degree or equivalent
• Dysphagia Trained/Qualified
• Experienced in stroke and ABI, community experience desirable but not essential - must have recent UK working SLT experience in Adult Neuro conditions.
• Understanding of clinical governance framework and implications for practice including audit and research governance.
• Current professional registration with HPC as a speech therapist and responsibility for maintaining this Registration
• Full UK Drivers License & Access to a car
