Direct Medics Healthcare Recruitment are seeking a compassionate and skilled Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Therapy Services in the Leyland, (Lancashire) area. This is an exciting opportunity to provide work with a Community based caseload of children with motor coordination difficulties (diagnosis of DCD, ASD, ADHD, co-morbidities); generally 5- teenage years.

Contract is up to 3 months initially with full time hours required (Monday to Friday between 8:30 / 16:30). Salary from £37,338 to £44,962 a year pro rata.

In this role, you will:

Conduct clinic, school, and home visits.

Manage a varied community caseload (MSK, neuromuscular, developmental, coordination difficulties). Potentially children with rheumatology issues affecting hand function- generally 5-teenage years & behaviour that challenges - with a focus on adapting the environment to make it safe. Generally 3 / 4 years old.

Be fully aware on Specific assessments used. Range of departmental paperwork and standardised assessment including: Initial assessment forms, Risk assessment paperwork, BOT, DASH, VMI, Clinical observations.

Triage conversations with family re: appropriateness and timeliness for our involvement (departmental proforma for this).

Collaborate with the Team Coordinator and Clinical Lead.

Collect equipment and complete a face-to-face induction.

Requirements

  • Professional Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Professional Registration with HCPC
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Evidence of recent and relevant post graduate experience encompassing the specialist field of practice. that demonstrates an in depth knowledge of specialist area - childrens community services.
  • Full UK Drivers License & Access to a car
  • Right to Work in the UK
