Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. We are looking for an experienced candidate to work alongside a Head of Department and Finance Controller in the processing of all transactional duties along with providing financial reports using excel. Ideally you will have experience processing accounts up to trial balance within an SME and recent Sales/Purchase Ledger transactions processing on Sage 50 (Essential). It would be ideal if you are AAT qualified also.

Duties

  • Monitor and maintain main accounts email and action urgent requests.
  • Raising large volumes of Sales Invoices on Sage 50 daily and sending invoices to customers.
  • Credit Control and ownership/reconciliation of Sales Ledgers/Customer Accounts on Sage 50 and CRM software.
  • Processing sales and purchase transactions along with checking Sales Orders on CRM system.
  • Maintain Fixed Assets Register.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and assist with month-end closing activities.
  • Ad-hoc analysis of company expense lines.
  • Reconcile loan accounts.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely resolution of discrepancies and queries related to accounts.
  • Provide cover for finance team members during holidays.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for financial documents and records.
  • Maintaining CRM database records.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance department as required.

Experience

  • Previous experience in an accounts assistant role or similar position is essential.
  • Previous working knowledge of Sage 50 is essential.
  • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of financial services and basic accounting principles is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability and experience to work with large volume of emails/invoices/date is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
