About the Role

As a Software Development Engineer in Test at Altitude Angel, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aviation technology. You will design and build test systems that validate and benchmark the performance of our world-leading Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) platform, enabling the safe integration of drones into airspace.

We are looking for a talented individual who is passionate about working as part of a team delivering quality engineering solutions to real world problems. You will have the opportunity to innovate and collaborate whilst playing a hands-on role in delivering tomorrow’s skies.

What You will Do

• Develop automated test scenarios using reusable code, supported by automated tooling
• Maintain existing automated test code repositories, investigating and addressing test failures within CI/CD pipelines
• Identify new testing requirements, creating and executing both manual and automated acceptance tests
• Perform exploratory UI and API testing, identifying suitable test scenarios for automation
• Investigate and reproduce technically challenging defects and test fixes
• Work with the development team to define and implement automation and test strategy
• Ensure that quality guidelines, engineering standards and agile principles are upheld within software development teams

What You will Bring

• Demonstrable commercial experience in automated test development
• Evidence of commercial experience in owning quality within an agile/scrum development process
• Experience with git source control
• Experience working with project management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps for bug tracking and task management

Desirable

• Experience validating the quality of safety-critical systems
• Experience testing systems with a real-time data delivery component
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development processes
• Experience writing automated UI tests using a Typescript-based test framework
• Familiarity with integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines

• Capable of owning quality for software projects, ensuring that every increment is built according to specification to a high quality
• An excellent communicator and collaborator who works well as part of a team
• You are a clear, well organised logical thinker with the ability to respond to dynamic situations when under pressure, applying the same clear, logical thinking
