Purpose

The main purpose of the role is to own the customer journey, site structure, content, product listings, and visual merchandising–so people have a seamless, enjoyable experience shopping on www.alicecaroline.com and www.alicecarolinetrade.com

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee our websites’ look and feel, ensuring consistency with Alice Caroline brand.
  • Review and improve user experience (UX) - from homepage to checkout.
  • Create and implement category structures and navigational flow for intuitive shopping.
  • Manage product listings: uploading products, writing descriptions, optimizing images, setting up variations. www.alicecaroline.com | www.alicecarolinetrade.com | https://alicecarolinesupply.etsy.com | Alice Caroline on Faire.com
  • Visual merchandising: curate homepages, collections, and featured products.
  • Analyse customer behaviour (heatmaps, click data, etc.) to inform UX decisions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team as led by the Head of Sales & Marketing on launches, campaigns, pillar pages and landing pages.
  • Use SEMRush data to support on-page content improvements (e.g., SEO-friendly product descriptions).
  • Provide graphic design for Alice Caroline - to include digital adverts, packaging, leaflets and other promotional materials.
  • Prepare fabrics and use a flatbed scanner to take an image of the fabric; set up new product listings on the AC website based on defined templates.

Skills Needed:

Person criteria: Qualifications and experience required

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years’ E-commerce and Wordpress experience.
  • UX/UI familiarity with an understanding of customer journey flow.
  • Graphics Design qualification - at degree level.
  • Strong copywriting and content creation skills.
  • A keen eye for design, with the ability to create visually appealing content that aligns with the brand guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Equally happy taking responsibility for complex projects/tasks as doing menial data entry.
  • Proven ability to work independently, quickly and accurately, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Adobe creative suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to build relationships with external technical consultants.

Desirable:

  • Familiar with A/B testing to improve conversion rates.
  • Google Suite (GA4, Ads, GSC etc.)
  • Passion for crafting, sewing, quilting, fabric.
  • Content SEO
  • Email marketing
  • B2C and B2B experience
  • Knowledge of GDPR
  • Knowledge and experience of light website development (i.e. html and CSS)

The shape of the role

  • 32 - 37.5 work hours per week, over four or five weekdays.
  • We operate a flexitime system in order to help staff achieve a good work-life balance.
  • The work schedule will be decided in negotiation with the post-holder and the Head of Sales & Marketing.
  • The place of work is Darkes Barn, Conderton, GL20 7PP. Some (maximum half) of your weekly hours may be worked remotely, after successful initial training and induction.

  • £14.62 per hour (£28,509 equivalent full-time salary per annum).
  • 25 days’ Annual Leave per annum plus UK bank holidays, pro rata to hours worked. There is a reasonable limit to how much leave that can be taken during school holidays.
