About Boombastic Events: Boombastic Events throws epic decade-themed parties where your playlist memories come to life! From afternoon Daytime Discos to evening throwbacks, we’ve been getting crowds dancing across the Midlands with over 200 sell-out events since 2014. We operate primarily in Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and Warwickshire, with regular events in locations like Bedford, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Coventry, Banbury, and Luton. We are known for our themed nights, including “Footloose 80s,” “Decades Daytime Disco,” and “Boombastic 90s.” We’re expanding our team to bring more unforgettable 80s, 90s, and 00s experiences to even more locations!

About The Role: We’re seeking technically-minded individuals who can handle the setup, equipment operation, and music delivery for our popular events. This structured role follows our established format while ensuring everything runs smoothly from a technical perspective. You’ll work as part of a team with our Event Host/MC to create seamless experiences our audiences love. This role may also include opportunities to work with our Silent Disco events.

What You’ll Do:

  • Set up and operate all event equipment (projector, lighting, DJ gear).
  • Deliver our carefully structured music format with precision.
  • Handle any technical troubleshooting during events.
  • Work as a team with our Club Events Host to create seamless experiences.
  • Maintain consistent audio and visual quality throughout.
  • Lead the setup process (2 hours before) and efficient pack-down (1 hour after).
  • Ensure all equipment is properly managed during quick turnarounds.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with AV equipment setup and operation.
  • Basic knowledge of lighting systems.
  • Ability to operate DJ equipment confidently. - Virtual DJ software and Pioneer controllers
  • Technical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Willingness to follow our proven music format.
  • Professional attitude with attention to detail.
  • Efficiency in setup and pack-down processes.

Availability Requirements:

  • Must be available for both daytime and evening events.
  • 2-4 events per month (predominantly Saturdays with occasional Friday evening)
  • Primary focus is daytime events (typically 2pm-6pm).
  • Evening events run for 4 hour period between 8pm-1am.
  • Need to arrive 2 hours before event start for setup.
  • Stay 1 hour after for efficient pack-down.
  • Weekend availability essential.
  • Must have own transportation to travel to venues across Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and Warwickshire.

Details:

  • Hourly rate £18-30 per hour. We offer a competitive rate, details of which will be discussed during the interview process.
