Learning and Development (L &D) Executive

Reporting to: Learning and Development Manager

Location: Flexible working (3 days in office), Head office based in Swindon

Salary: £28k

Role Purpose:

This role focuses on supporting the Learning & Development Manager by:

  • Creating eLearning lesson content, and
  • Managing essential administrative responsibilities associated with learning and development.

The role is held by an individual who clearly demonstrates:

  • Fundamental proficiency in eLearning lesson design and development, and
  • Exceptional coordination skills, coupled with a proactive attitude, and strong evidence of initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

Administration

  • Co-ordinate the administration and logistics for learning and development activities.
  • Communicate course requirements with all relevant stakeholders with agreed timelines.
  • Manage the learning and development calendar.
  • Schedule L&D meetings as assigned by the L&D Manager.
  • Act as reliable point of contact for L&D queries from staff.
  • Produce and maintain accurate records of learning and development activity.

Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Act as first-line support of the online L&D system to all people across the business.
  • Ensure new starters are onboarded on learning paths and instructed on use of the system.
  • Assign learning content on LMS to learners and/or communities of learners.
  • Schedule and track all online learning events as assigned by the L&D Manager.
  • Capture and update data as assigned.
  • Liaise and follow-up with LMS provider to resolve system queries.

Design & Development

  • Design and develop e-learning lessons using a systematic approach to ensure the creation of impactful and effective learning experiences.
  • Incorporate engaging and multimedia-rich resources, including videos, interactive quizzes, and dynamic presentations.
  • Modify and refine video content to enhance quality.
  • Design, distribute, collate, course evaluation feedback forms.
  • Ensure all developed materials, including lesson content and supporting documents, are systematically organised and uploaded to our central repository.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Prior experience in developing learning course materials ideally in an L&D environment.
  • High level of initiative.
  • A strong understanding of learning principles.
  • Prior experience using an elearning authoring tool such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate.
  • Good office-based admin skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Experience working with multimedia tools.
  • Good communication skills in a global multi-cultural context.
  • Able to work well under pressure and manage workloads effectively.
  • Experience using IT based records management/database systems.
