Role Purpose:
As a Business Development Manager at Pointer Fire, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our Fire Protection installation and maintenance business across the North and Central regions of England. Reporting directly to the General Manager and collaborating with regional branch managers, you will be responsible for creating new, profitable opportunities by presenting our cutting-edge solutions to a diverse range of industries.
We’re looking for a driven, resilient, and results-oriented professional with a deep understanding of fire protection industry standards. You should have a proven history of success in business development and direct sales, paired with strong technical know-how and an unwavering determination to succeed.

This role is based in North and Central England.
Role Responsibilities:
- Foster and nurture strong, trusting relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring lasting, professional connections.
- Grow existing client accounts while actively seeking and attracting new business to expand our customer base.
- Develop and execute a strategic territory growth plan , identifying key opportunities to drive success and revenue in your area.
- Plan and launch innovative marketing campaigns , designed to capture attention and drive engagement.
- Create and maintain a tailored contact plan for each key customer, ensuring personalized attention and ongoing relationship building.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities , targeting potential clients that align with our offerings and business goals.
- Prepare compelling quotes and proposals , showcasing the value of our solutions and meeting client needs with precision.
- Log all sales leads, opportunities, and quotes into the company’s ERP system to ensure clear tracking and accountability.
- Collaborate with partners, suppliers, and sub-contractors , building strong relationships to ensure seamless transitions once contracts are awarded.
- Support Branch Managers in project and contract reviews, offering insights and helping ensure smooth operations.
- Design conceptual solutions to create accurate and competitive quotations that align with client needs.
- Present and demonstrate the outstanding value of our products and services, making a compelling case to prospective buyers.
- Educate clients and consultants on the latest Fire Industry Standards, providing in-depth knowledge to foster trust and confidence.
- Collaborate with the security team to develop innovative joint Fire & Security opportunities, expanding our service offerings.
- Take on additional tasks as requested by the Senior Management Team, contributing to the overall success of the company.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Fire industry knowledge with a minimum 5 years demonstratable success in Sales and/or Business Development in the UK.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Fire Industry standards.
- The drive and energy to manage multiple accounts while looking for new opportunities.
- Ability to understand client needs and handle the negotiation process from initial contact through to contract award.
- Strong technical knowledge of Fire Alarm and Fire Protection systems.
- Specific knowledge of Honeywell, Siemens and Hochiki Fire Alarm systems (training provided).
