This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in product management. It would especially suite someone with a particular interest in property and environmental risk or legal services, although not essential. As a Junior Product, you will work closely with the Senior Product Manager to support product strategy and development. You will be responsible for managing the product backlog, creating Jira tickets, overseeing roadmap delivery, and updating products using our in-house product builder.

In addition you will work closely with the Environmental data team in identifying, assessing and creating new datasets which enhance our product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Product Management Support

The successful candidate would work across our Insights & Data product suite, with multimillion pound turnover, covering risks to property such as flooding and contamination. As part of the team, you would be responsible for:

  • Assisting in backlog grooming, requirement gathering, and defining user stories.
  • Supporting discovery work, data analysis, and market research to improve product offerings.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the business, including engineering, operations, and sales.

Product Ownership & Delivery
As part of a cross-functional team, you will have exposure to a broad range of responsibilities with the opportunity to grow into a particular area of interest. In the first instance, you will be responsible for:

  • Owning the Jira ticket creation process, ensuring clear requirements for development.
  • Working with the engineering team to oversee the delivery of the roadmap.
  • Monitoring progress and help remove blockers to ensure timely delivery.

Product Maintenance & Updates

The world of property risk and assessment is constantly changing, as a result we are always improving and enhancing our product portfolio, you will:

  • Learn to use our in-house product builder to update and maintain our product suite.
  • Ensure product accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Assist with product enhancements and operational queries and over time take ownership of enhancements and updates to the product suite.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential

  • Some experience in a product management or product owner role, or a strong interest in developing within this space.
  • Technical mindset, being able to understand processes and work with data to inform decision making and define risk outcomes.
  • Ability to translate big picture product plans into actionable steps for product delivery.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.

Advantage

  • Experience with MSSQL or an interest in working with data.
  • Knowledge of environmental risk or conveyancing processes.
  • Experience working with Jira and creating user stories for development teams.
