Job Title: Software Developer Intern - PC Application

Location: Afon House, 5 River Mead, Worthing Rd, Horsham RH12 1TL

Role Type: 12-month sandwich internship, (on site role initially, progressing to a hybrid role)

Job Summary:

As a Software Developer Intern at Honeywell, in Horsham, you will be responsible for working as part of an agile team researching and developing the next generation of our industry leading building energy management systems. This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.

This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell. This internship is set up for 12 months and will be for a candidate requiring a sandwich internship as part of their degree, with a potential opportunity for a permanent role after graduation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a Research & Development team to expand out our latest software development initiatives and developing PC applications that allow the Engineering and configuration of Building Management Systems developed using C / C++ or similar high-level language
  • You will be working in an agile software development / scrum team with exposure to different areas of the business and teams across the globe
  • Meeting with decision makers, system owners, and end-users to define business requirements
  • Developing cutting edge products to manage the energy and efficiency of commercial buildings. Our market leading products are used across the world in commercial businesses, the leisure industry, education, and healthcare to name but a few.

Key skills and qualifications:

  • Currently studying a degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science, requiring a 2025 sandwich placement
  • Solid business level written and verbal communication skills
  • You must be able to commute with ease to our new Horsham offices
  • We require C++ and/or C experience
