Since 1934, we have been working to build a more equal society for women, a world where everyone has a safe roof over their head regardless of circumstance, where violence against women is no longer tolerated.

We are now looking for a Men’s Outreach Worker to join us on a part-time, fixed-term basis until March 2026, working 18.75 hours per week.

The Role

As a Men’s Outreach Worker, you will provide high-quality assistance to male victims and survivors of domestic abuse living in the community.

Specifically, you will deliver trauma-informed support services to individuals with multiple needs, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.

Working closely with local and national services, you will seek to improve and achieve the best outcomes for men, while meeting the standards set by our commissioners and funders.

Additionally, you will:

  • Provide advice, advocacy, and risk management support
  • Facilitate sessions to explore domestic abuse awareness, life skills, and healthy lifestyles
  • Engage hard-to-reach service users with creative and innovative support strategies
  • Develop positive working relationships with external agencies and professionals
  • Support the training and development of new staff and volunteers
  • Maintain accurate and confidential service user records and ensure compliance with data protection policies

About You

To be considered as a Men’s Outreach Worker, you will need:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience working with vulnerable male adults from diverse backgrounds in a community or floating support capacity
  • Experience supporting male survivors of domestic abuse
  • Experience undertaking individual assessments, including risk assessments and developing and delivering support plans
  • Strong crisis management skills and the ability to work independently
  • The ability to build effective professional relationships both internally and externally
  • A good understanding of confidentiality, data protection, and professional boundaries
  • Experience and awareness of the risks associated with lone working
  • An NVQ Level III, A Level standard qualification, or equivalent
