Elfordleigh is an independent family run 3-star hotel, golf course and leisure centre in Plympton, Plymouth in the Beautiful South West of England. The hotel is in the final phase of serious refurbishments for the purpose to provide 4-star accommodation and service, whilst continuing to provide a relaxed home away from home experience for our guests and members.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive person to support the events manager in securing weddings and events and if required is able to do a front of house shift.
Role:
To sell Elfordleigh as the perfect venue for wedding and events, develop and prepare client proposals in order to plan, organise and deliver bespoke weddings and events.
If and when required serve our customers at the bar or in the restaurant.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting show rounds of the hotel and grounds: meet and greet, understand what each couple/customer is looking for, sell the hotel’s features and benefits. A high % enquiry to conversion rate is a key performance indicator.
- Booking weddings and events including contract management and taking deposits.
- Answering queries and quoting for weddings and events within the agreed time and in a professional manner.
- Planning and organising each wedding/event in detail from booking through to delivery. This includes detailed planning, discussing menus, updating costing’s, preparing functions sheets, issuing a day planner, liaising with suppliers, dealing with lots of questions and requests.
- Managing and supervising the wedding/function on the day itself, be the main point of contact, have a strong presence in the operation particularly during periods of high volume.
- Taking orders and payments as well as serving our customers
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has a minimum of 2 years reception and Weddings & Events experience in a fast paced hospitality environment.
- Has experience in working in a hotel
- Is flexible in hours - shifts to include weekdays, weekends and evenings, typically between the hours of 7am and 10pm. Our hotel is open 365 a year, holiday will no be permitted over the Christmas and New Year period.
- Has own transport, a must due to location.
- Is confident, friendly and approachable.
- Has a keen eye for detail.
- Has a passion for delivering fantastic customer service and a warm welcome as the first point of contact.
- Is customer focused, a good listener, has a flexible and positive approach and is always willing to go the extra mile.
- Is able to communicate and work confidently as part of a team.
- Has a smart appearance with excellent personal hygiene standards.
- Has strong selling skills and is able to upsell and create additional revenue.
- Is self-motivated and able to work on his/her own and within a team. You will be required to work autonomously most of the time, managing your daily work load, produce accurate internal information and display an excellent professional work ethic.
- Has advanced experience of working with Microsoft Office applications.
- Will have knowledge of and experience in Rezlynx (PMS) and ePOS systems
