About the role

We are looking for a Head of FP&A to join our Finance team here at ARO.

Based from our Farnborough office, you will report to the CFO and be responsible for the monthly reporting, rolling forecast, budget and analysis of the ARO Group results.

The scope of the role encompasses:

  • Accountability for the month end reporting packs for each of the business units and Board Reporting, along with KPI modelling
  • Supporting strategic decision making through financial modelling and analysis

You are critical to ensuring in understanding the financial performance of the business and modelling the long term outlook of the business and assisting in driving decision-making within the senior leadership team.

Please note that this is a Hybrid role with onsite requirement 3 days a week. You must be able to commute to the office and have your own transport.

What you’ll do

Financial Planning & Forecasting:

  • Developing and maintaining financial models to forecast future performance.
  • Creating annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Conducting scenario analysis to assess potential impacts on financial performance.

Budgeting and Variance Analysis:

  • Preparing and managing annual budget.
  • Analysing variances between actual and budgeted results to identify areas for improvement.
  • Providing insights into financial performance and driving action plans.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Preparing regular financial reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Analysing financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Developing and presenting clear and concise financial insights.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to gather data and understand business drivers.
  • Communicating financial information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Own monthly reporting for Board and individual Business Unit’s to communicate monthly results and KPI reporting.

Requirements

What we are looking for?

Essential

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA , CIMA or equivalent) with minimum 4 years PQE.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse financial data and identify trends and insights.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling with experience in building and maintaining financial models predominantly using Excel
  • Understanding financial principles with knowledge of accounting standards, financial statements and key financial ratios.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Desirable

  • Sage 200 and Dynamics BI Reporting
  • Experience working in a large company (+£200m with +500 employees)
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement approach to work, including but not limited to, identifying areas for process improvements and implementing robust solutions.
