About the job
The Senior Commercial Finance Analyst will be sitting within the Commercial Finance team and is required to conduct financial analysis and due diligence of the supplier charges in preparation for the service go live dates and beyond. The post holder will work closely with colleagues in the NS&I commercial function to ensure agreed commercial outcomes are delivered and value for money is demonstrated
The post holder will be required to build relationships with strategic suppliers, analyse data presented by suppliers and challenge when necessary. The role will enable strategic decision-making surrounding Business Transformation Programme deliverables with the provision of timely, accurate and robust financial management information. The role will involve work closely with colleagues across the business such as the Commercial, Financial Control Unit and Project Team. The role will have exposure to Corporate Planning, P&L forecasting and budgeting, supporting the wider finance team as required.

Essential experience
- Experience of developing and delivering financial models to enable forecasting & planning
- Extensive experience of providing financial assurance
- Experience of independently challenging costs in a dynamic commercial environment
- Experience of making recommendations and influencing people to deliver business goals
- Desirable - experience of providing financial advice in a complex programme
Essential qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA) with post qualification experience
Essential skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to non-financial colleagues across the business
- Strong team player, able to build effective relationships with key stakeholders
Essential technical knowledge
- Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret complex commercial information and determine the business implication
- Strong computer skills with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience of planning and budgeting tool

Working for NS &I
NS&I is currently working in a hybrid way with colleagues expected to work in the office for 40% of their working month and this will be increasing to 60% of their working month in early 2025. If you are applying to work in London, the role is currently based in Sanctuary Buildings, Great Smith Street, SW1P 3BT and in early 2025 it is anticipated that NS&I will be moving out of Sanctuary Buildings and into our new NS&I London office location, Riverside House, 2a Southwark Bridge Rd, London SE1 9HA.
Any move to NS&I from another employer will mean you can no longer access childcare vouchers. This includes moves between government departments.
