Job Title: Endoscopy Consultant for insourcing.
Location: Altnagelvin Hospital, Northern Ireland
Contract Type: Part-time, Weekends
Overview: Altnagelvin Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Endoscopy Consultant to join our team on a medical insourcing contract. This role is pivotal in addressing patient waiting lists and ensuring the delivery of high-quality endoscopy services in line with NHS standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures, including OGD (oesophagogastroduodenoscopy) and colonoscopy, adhering to Joint Advisory Group (JAG) standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care and optimize clinical outcomes.
- Contribute to reducing referral-to-treatment waiting times by managing a high-volume caseload efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all procedures and patient interactions.
Requirements:
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice in the UK.
- JAG accreditation in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
- Proven experience in managing endoscopy services within an NHS or equivalent healthcare setting.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
- Ability to work effectively during weekends and manage a high-volume caseload.
