Legatics is one of the world’s leading LegalTech scale-ups. Our legal transaction management platform enables law firms and their clients to collaborate on and close deals in an interactive online environment, providing clarity, reducing risk and saving time.

Our customers include some of the world’s top law firms, such as Allen & Overy Shearman, Hogan Lovells, Herbert Smith Freehills, and King & Wood Mallesons. And we’ve been used on transactions in more than 60 countries on transactions worth over $1 trillion.

The role:

We are looking for a strategic yet hands-on Chief Product Officer (CPO) to take ownership of our product function and drive its execution. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a key role in shaping our product strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, and championing our vision internally and externally.

As CPO, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, customers and engineers to ensure needs and requirements are met across the board. You should be equally comfortable setting high-level strategic direction as you are rolling up your sleeves to refine product development processes and execution.

What you would be doing:

Product leadership

  • Develop and execute the company’s product strategy in line with the company’s mission and goals.
  • Own and drive the product roadmap, ensuring prioritisation is based on customer impact and business value.
  • Champion a data-driven approach to product decision-making, leveraging customer insights, analytics, and market trends.
  • Represent the product vision and strategy at the executive level and across the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders to inform product direction.

Product development

  • Lead the product team in designing, building, and launching new products and features, ensuring they meet customer needs and deliver business value.
  • Develop detailed product specifications, user stories, and wireframes.
  • Gather and prioritise product requirements. Maintaining, reviewing and enhancing our Productboard insights database, leveraging data for informed decision-making.
  • Conduct analysis of real-time user click data to refine product decisions, introducing this as an approach to the Product function.
  • Design features, working closely with the Engineering team to get them delivered.
  • Participate in and champion an Agile, fast-paced delivery culture in Product and Engineering.
  • Ensure engineers are closely connected with the purpose and industry context behind their work.
  • Continuously improve product design practices to drive efficiency and quality.

Team leadership and culture

  • Mentor and manage three reports, a UI/UX designer and two product managers, fostering a culture of rapid delivery and high performance.
  • Foster a collaborative environment between Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, high performance, and rapid delivery.

Product communication

  • Represent Product within executive team meetings, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Engage personnel at all levels within our customers in our product vision, development and user experience.
  • Work closely with engineering leadership, delivery management and engineers to ensure we’re delivering the right product at the right pace.
  • Be the pivotal communication point between the business teams (Sales, Customer and Marketing) and our platform.

Who would you be working with?

Anthony Seale, CEO - who you will be reporting into, alongside the rest of our Executive Team; Steve Wheeler (CTO) and Daniel Porus (CRO).

Team culture is really important to us. We are looking for someone who is excited to join us as a key employee at this important stage in our growth and who will bring new and exciting perspectives to Legatics. We are a friendly and passionate bunch with a wide range of interests. We love to socialise together too, holding regular team events.

Requirements

What we need from you:

  • A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a Product role, ideally within SaaS.
  • Proven ability to balance high-level strategy with hands-on execution.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to inspire, engage, and align stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment, comfortable with rapid change and iteration.
  • Familiarity with agile product development methodologies and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • A right to work in the UK (unfortunately, we are not in a position to support visa sponsorship at this stage).

Bonus points for the following (but don’t worry, these are not essential):

  • Exposure to legal practice, law firms or lawyers (for example, through an internship).
  • Experience working in a start-up or scale-up, ideally within LegalTech.

Benefits

What we offer you:

  • 25 days holiday per year (plus public holidays).
  • Early Finish Fridays - on the last Friday of every month, we finish at lunchtime!
  • Pension with NEST.
  • Personal Learning & Development budget.
  • Access to Mental healthcare for you and your immediate family.
  • Enhanced parental leave policies so you can spend more time with your family.
  • Lots of opportunities for accelerated professional development and career progression.
  • Work alongside a supportive and talented team with the opportunity to grow one of the world’s leading LegalTech scale-ups.
  • A warm, genuinely collaborative culture and an awesome team; and
  • Regular socials.

We put users at the heart of our design to provide legal transaction experiences that everyone loves. In order to make that a reality, we seek to foster a diverse and inclusive working environment that can empower our people to be creative, effective and innovative, to build a brand we are proud of.

We’re committed to building a diverse team and are constantly looking for ways to improve our processes to help us do that.
