Overview
As a small family business this is an exciting opportunity for the ideal candidate to support a small business with the daily administrative office tasks, driving sales and processing orders and supporting the running of a small warehouse function. As a hands-on role that at time can be physically demanding with a variety of administration duties such as purchase order entry, driving sales and packing and picking orders this needs to be a flexible individual with a “can-do” attitude. Suitable for someone who likes a variety in their role and can be trustworthy and fit into a small team.
Duties
- Support the day to day running of the organisation handling a variety of administrative tasks
- Support of warehouse duties such as receiving and dispatching deliveries into and out of the warehouse
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls in a professional manner
- Respond to emails promptly and efficiently
- Carry out quotations providing accurate information
- Develop proactive sales marketing campaigns with email/phone and trade shows as platforms
- Health and Safety awareness and control
- Processing orders from online channels/phone calls or via email
- Supporting customers with general product enquiries
- Data input of customer details
- Managing all shipping and freight aspects of the business from booking transport, quotation, customs and paperwork and picking the orders and liaising with couriers and pallet networks- this can be boxes and pallets
- Supporting a small local family business with other general duties as and when required which may include, attending international and nationwide trade shows/opening and closing the site as a key holder.
Qualifications
- Pleasant attitude and trustworthy
- 12 months of demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Advanced skills in MS Office (excel/email/word) and office management software
- Familiarity with driving outbound sales via email, phone and trade shows
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to do at times a manual and technical role
- Ability to work in a small family-run business and be prepared to “get stuck in” with a variety of tasks and demonstrate a trustworthy, self-motivated attitude approach without supervision
- Line management experience as the intention is for the role to include management of warehouse staff
