About the role
Departmental Management
- Support the management of all aspects of Quality Assurance related to product and production quality
- Indirect Management of a team of Quality Engineers, and Direct Management of a team of Quality Co-ordinators.
Product Quality
- Liaison with Drager Sales & Service entities globally to receive products back through the Customer Returns / Failure On Arrival process for investigation and reporting on findings, ensure all issues are resolved in a timely and professional manner following Drager procedures.
- Utilisation of established quality tools and techniques to be able to perform and manage fault finding / analysis of returned potentially non-conforming products and ensure other stakeholders are involved when required.
- Support implementation of the departmental strategy in order to minimise risk, improve product quality and reduce customer concerns.
- Support Operations when required to help resolve product related issues. Ensure all resolutions are robust. Prepared to take a lead role when required.
- Development of individual performance objectives aligned with overall business strategy and monitor and coach through 1-2-1 reviews.
- Manage product / field risk assessments as required.
- Take responsibility for a product portfolio and act as the QRA team member in the respective GFE cross functional team.
New Product Development
- Ensure that quality related requirements are completed during any New Product Development project and identify improvement activities associated with the deliverables.
Production Quality
- Identify Best practice across other Draeger facilities and implement within Blyth.

- Working within a close team of 10 quality personnel, with a focus on quality deliverables and customer satisfaction
Your Qualifications
Role Requirements
Education/Qualifications
- Degree in an engineering discipline or Equivalent is desirable or relevant experience.
- Six Sigma Black Belt is desirable
Related Experience
- Previous relevant experience in a quality engineering role is essential.
- Familiarity within a Lean manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of APQP processes and procedures
- Quality Engineering with an electronics bias
Skills, Special Competencies
- Logical, data driven problem solving skills
- Quality tools and techniques for managing product quality
- IT literate (Microsoft, Minitab, SAP)
- Team player
- Positive & decisive with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self- motivated with the ability to work without supervision
- Flexible and determined
- Prepared to travel as required
- Full, clean UK driving License
