  • So, what will I be doing?

At Yeo Valley, we’ve been making delicious, organic dairy products for over 50 years. As a family-run business, we believe in doing things the right way - sustainably, ethically, and with people at the heart of what we do. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our team, drive continuous improvement, and shape a positive, high-performance culture.

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading and developing our engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and efficiency. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, improve processes, and ensure the highest standards of operational performance.

You’ll be inspiring and leading teams in an established, distinctive and ambitious food manufacturing company that has a commitment to Nurture & Nourish People & Planet by Making Great Food the Right Way. Forever.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & People Development: Inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, ensuring engagement and continuous growth.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimise plant performance.
  • Culture & Collaboration: Foster a culture of open communication, teamwork, and accountability across departments.
  • Reliability & Maintenance Excellence: Drive best-in-class maintenance strategies, ensuring machinery and processes run successfully with minimal disruptions.
  • Sustainability & Innovation: Support Yeo Valley’s commitment to sustainability by leading initiatives that improve energy effectiveness and reduce waste.
  • Health & Safety: Champion a safety-first approach, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Some companies might refer to this role as a “Head of Engineering”, “Site Engineering Manager” or “Chief Engineer”

Sounds interesting, what do I need?

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of Health & Safety and Environmental compliance and standards.
  • Proven, demonstrable experience within FMCG and a track record of delivering sustainable improvements.
  • Excellent Leadership Qualities.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and CI Techniques.
  • Proven track record of specifying and running medium to large scale projects from conception to completion.
  • Engineering Qualification (HND/Degree)
