We are seeking an experienced Assistant Head Chef to join our dedicated team at Eden House. The successful candidate will support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that cater to the diverse dietary needs and preferences of our residents, ensuring that our food service reflects the values and ethos of Christadelphian Care Homes.​

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing balanced, nutritious meals that adhere to dietary requirements and individual preferences.​
• Ensure all meals are prepared and presented to the highest standards, maintaining consistency and quality.​
• Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to maintain a cohesive and efficient team.​
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.​
• Manage inventory, including ordering and stock control, to minimize waste and ensure cost-effectiveness.​
• Collaborate with care staff to accommodate the specific dietary needs of residents, including those with medical conditions or allergies.​
• Contribute to menu development, incorporating resident feedback and seasonal variations.​

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in a similar role within a care home, hospital, or similar environment is preferred.​
• Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery).​
• Strong understanding of dietary requirements and nutrition, particularly in a care setting.​
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.​
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time efficiently.​
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.​
• Alignment with the values and ethos of Christadelphian Care Homes.​
