Job Title: Community Development Lead
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Development Lead to manage, inspire, and drive the success of our community engagement activities. This role will require leadership, financial management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including schools, community groups, and funders.
Key Responsibilities:
Management:
- Plan and manage the team’s workload, including setting and reviewing targets, measuring outputs, outcomes, and impacts, and reporting on progress
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective stakeholder engagement and involvement throughout the organization
- Communicate effectively both internally and externally, using various media channels, to maximize engagement
- Report on the progress of the Community Strategy and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders
- Manage the apprentices within the department
Culture:

- Develop positive working relationships with colleagues to enable the organization to deliver its priorities

Sales:
- Create, develop, and maintain relationships with schools and community groups
- Develop and implement a clear and detailed sales strategy to drive growth and achieve targets
- Maintain oversight of the Community team’s sales performance, ensuring consistency and success in achieving sales goals
Funding:
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of various funding streams, maintaining a detailed log of funding options
- Build and nurture relationships with funders to secure ongoing support for community initiatives
- Create and implement a Corporate Fundraising Package, meeting agreed-upon funding targets (restricted, unrestricted, corporate, and capital)
Project Management:
- Collaborate with the Executive team to develop and introduce new programs based on relevant community needs
- Manage community program delivery, review, and recording processes, ensuring all activities are well-documented and effective
- Promote community programs across multiple media platforms to raise awareness and increase engagement
- Report on all aspects of community programs to the Executive team and the organization’s governance structure
Charity Leadership:
- Actively participate as a member of the Community Leadership team
- Provide leadership and contribute to the overall success of the charity
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports for the charity’s governance structure
- Work closely with the Charity Executive team and governance to ensure compliance at all levels
- Act as a positive role model for staff and stakeholders, promoting the values and mission of the organization

- Working within the third sector and/or sports (Desirable)
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Essential)
- Strong presentation skills (Essential)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software (Essential)
- Self-starter with the ability to use initiative (Essential)
- Effective decision-maker, able to evaluate and select the best options (Essential)
- Collaborative team player (Essential)
Qualifications and Knowledge
- GCSE Maths and English or similar level qualification (Essential)
- Level 3 qualified in a relevant area. (Essential)
- Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection (Essential)
- Understanding of the needs of diverse individuals and communities (Essential)
- Knowledge of mutuality and accountability in the housing sector (Essential)
- Full driving license and access to a suitable vehicle with business insurance (Essential)
- Management qualification (Desirable)

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: £24,580.00-£28,629.00 per year
