We are seeking a talented and driven BI Developer to join our team. In this role, you will deliver robust and sustainable Power BI solutions to stakeholders across the business, focusing on tools that support commercial and operational objectives. You will collaborate with various teams to design, develop, roll out, and support Power BI solutions, ensuring they remain fit for purpose and perform as expected. You will also support stakeholders in adopting Power BI and identify new opportunities to add value through data insights.

What will I be doing?

• Liaise with stakeholders to respond to data queries, troubleshoot issues, and gather user requirements for future BI solutions.
• Design and develop Power BI semantic models and reports to maximise business value.
• Proactively identify opportunities to enhance existing reporting with Power BI and develop robust BI processes including development, peer review, testing, and release.
• Support the UX design of new reports and templates to provide a visually strong appearance for stakeholders.
• Offer best-practice advice for adopting and developing Power BI artefacts in line with the company’s data strategy and processes.
• Collaborate with the wider Data team and business stakeholders to ensure data is defined, structured, and accessible for self-service Power BI reports and Semantic Models.

What do I need?

• Experienced in building and maintaining reliable and scalable Power BI reporting, dashboards, and semantic layers, with strong knowledge of Power BI and proficiency in SQL.
• Expertise in designing and developing semantic models using large data volumes, with experience in Power BI Report Builder being a plus.
• Understanding of data models and data warehouse concepts, with preferred experience in Databricks and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with modern user experience techniques, including audiences, personas, user stories, and user interface design.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with a proven record of engaging and collaborating with stakeholders and suppliers within a complex enterprise organisation.
• Ambitious and driven, with a keen eye for design from both data architecture and BI UX perspectives, and a desire to learn, improve, and deliver exceptional solutions.
