The Role - Technical Author

Key Skills and Attributes

• You have proven experience as a Technical Author, Technical Writer, or similar role.
• You have strong understanding of digital products, APIs, SDKs, and software development processes.
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in English language is a critical skill, due to the content of documentation.
• You are able to break down complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation.
• You have experience using documentation tools such as Confluence, Markdown, Docusaurus or similar.
• You are familiar with version control systems like Git.
• You have the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical teams.
• You have strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience with API documentation tools such as Swagger or Postman.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Authoring knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript or C.
• Experience with multimedia content creation (diagrams, videos, etc.)

Nice to have:

• Previous experience in the iGaming, lottery, or betting industry.
• Knowledge of ISO27001 standards and compliance requirements.

About the Role

In the role of Technical Author, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving high-quality technical documentation for our digital products, including software applications like GeoLocs, APIs, and middleware solutions. You will work closely with product managers, developers, QA and UX teams to ensure our documentation is clear, concise, and user-friendly for both internal and external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including user guides, user facing help libraries, SDK documentation, release notes, and product specifications.
• Collaborate with product teams to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, accessible content.
• Ensure consistency in terminology, style, and structure across all documentation.
• Update documentation in line with new product releases and enhancements.
• Work closely with UX designers to ensure documentation aligns with product interfaces and workflows.
• Conduct content reviews with Software & QA engineers and other stakeholders such as Product Manager, to ensure accuracy.
• Manage document repositories and version control systems for documentation.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the usability and accessibility of documentation through visuals, diagrams, and multimedia content.
• Support mkodo in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of its ISO27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS).
• Adhere to all relevant mkodo ISO27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) policies, procedures, and requirements at all times.
• Complete any reasonable tasks relating to the mkodo ISO27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS).
