The Role

We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing new products and enhancing existing ones, ensuring they meet technical specifications and market expectations. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, utilise advanced design tools, and contribute to product innovation through research, prototyping, and testing.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Design & Development:

  • Create and develop new products and enhance existing ones.

  • Develop product specifications, technical drawings, and documentation.

  • Utilise CAD software (preferably SolidWorks) and other design tools to produce high-quality designs.

Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct research and analysis to identify innovative design solutions.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, and designers to ensure alignment with market needs and technical requirements.

  • Clearly communicate design concepts and specifications to internal and external stakeholders.

Testing & Prototyping:

  • Develop and test prototypes to validate functionality and reliability.

  • Conduct user testing and gather feedback for design improvements.

Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and resolve design issues and technical challenges.

  • Analyse product performance data and suggest enhancements.

Regulatory & Quality Compliance:

  • Ensure that final products meet market requirements, technical specifications, and regulatory standards.

Essential Criteria

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and design methodologies.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (preferably SolidWorks) and other design tools.

  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and product testing techniques.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Creativity, innovation, and a keen attention to detail.

Education & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is typically required.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in design and development roles.
