Salary: Circa £40,000 per annum negotiable depending on experience + fantastic benefits

Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Location: Remote. Predominantly remote working, and regular travel is required to Jisc offices and/or customers. Meeting in person is something we value so you may need to travel on occasion to our hub offices.
This position requires the successful candidate to undergo enhanced background screening checks.

About the role:
In this pivotal role as Cyber Security Portal Manager you are responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, and optimization of the replacement system for the Jisc cyber security portal. The vision for the portal is to enable members and customers derive the greatest value from the growing selection of Jisc’s cyber security services.
This role requires a blend of UX and data visualisation, project and service management skills, and a keen eye for detail to ensure the portal meets the need of users and supports business objectives. The cyber security portal manager is responsible for both development and business as usual operational duties.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead development of the replacement portal in Splunk Cloud, working closely with cross-functional teams and third-party developers to align functionality with business goals.
  • Manage the transition of current services supported, and end-users, to the new portal system.
  • Oversee day to day management, maintenance and delivery of the cyber security portal, and ensure the availability and access to portal-dependent services and functions.
  • Lead projects from conception to completion, including planning, execution, and post-launch review. Underpinning this is requirements gathering from internal teams, working closely with product and service, and users from Jisc membership organisations.
  • User experience (UX) optimization and data visualisation through continuous improvement by analysing user feedback, conducting usability tests, and implementing enhancements.
  • Ensure the portal and processes comply with relevant accessibility and ISO9001 & 27001 standards.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of service management and delivery with strong experience in data visualisation or similar activity.
  • Proficiency in web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), in Splunk Studio dashboard and search creation, or in PowerBI development.
  • Agile, traditional project and/or programme management techniques.
  • Web content creation including blogs, articles and social media.
  • Experience in managing relationships with external suppliers or developers.
  • Bachelor’s degree or demonstrable experience in service or product management, ITIL foundation or equivalent.
