General and subject cover needed in Secondary schools in Workington and the surrounding area,

We are working with Secondary schools and colleges across Cumbria to support them with their teaching cover needs/recruitment and have opportunities available for either day to day or regular work available across Cumbria on both a part-time and full-time basis. There is the potential for this to extend to full academic year and/or permanent/direct employment if this is preferred - so please contact us to find out more if you’re interested in considering any work in education across Cumbria.

Daily rates are from £140 per day and rates increase depending on experience/length of booking. Post 12 working weeks your actual working rate is calculated and paid according to your pay scale.

Duties/Expectations of a Supply Teacher

As a long term supply teacher you will be expected to plan and teach well-structured lessons of a high standard by following designated programmes of study. By monitoring students in accordance with agreed departmental strategies you will impart your knowledge and develop students’ understanding through effective use of lesson time. You will be required to set homework where necessary. You will be expected to contribute to the design and provision of an engaging curriculum along with the other department staff. You will maintain discipline in accordance with school policies and demonstrate good practice in the classes with regard to attendance, appearance, uniform, punctuality, behaviour and homework. You will also be expected to set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students.
