Are you an experienced leader in project management with a strategic mindset ready to drive transformative change? RNIB is seeking a visionary Head of Portfolio Management Office (PMO) to join our Technology Projects & Transformation team.
As the Head of PMO, you will be instrumental in steering the future of RNIB’s project delivery governance. You will be accountable for designing, developing and implementing RNIB’s new PMO, ensuring that our strategic goals are achieved through rigorous and effective project management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and embed Project Office governance while positioning the PMO as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for project delivery
  • Champion continuous improvement and drive a delivery-centric culture
  • Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and excellence within the PMO
  • Enhance project management capabilities across RNIB
  • Implement a robust project delivery framework with comprehensive processes, tools, and templates
  • Provide strategic insights and regular status reports to senior management
  • Oversee risk, issue, dependency and change resolution processes
  • Ensure the timely, scope-accurate, and budget-compliant delivery of projects
  • Align project initiatives with RNIB’s strategic objectives

About You

  • Track record in establishing PMOs and creating Centres of Excellence for project delivery
  • Proven project management expertise with significant experience in leading large, complex projects and programs
  • Competent in applying diverse project management methodologies (e.g., agile, waterfall)
  • Strategic planning and organisational prowess
  • Experience in driving organisational change and capacity improvement
  • Strong decision-making abilities with confidence in making strategic and operational decisions
  • Experience managing a team, providing excellent line management and support to direct reports
  • Substantial evidenced project management and/or PMO experience
  • Desirable - recognised project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, PMP, PgMP)
