We are seeking to appoint a qualified full-time Librarian to work in the prestigious Chatfeild-Roberts Library at Cheltenham College from September 2025.
The post holder will be expected to work full-time hours during College 's term time, plus an additional 7 weeks per year (during the College’s school holidays) as follows: a week of the Autumn half-term break, a week of the December holiday, 2 weeks in the Easter holiday, the Summer half-term break and at least two weeks in the Summer holiday.
Supported by 3 part-time Library Assistants, the Librarian’s responsibilities include: ensuring the Library provides a highly effective working environment for pupils and staff, developing professional links with relevant bodies, monitoring and improving the range of research and reading resources, ensuring all fiction/academic stocks are kept up to date, acquiring and cataloguing all books and other printed materials in the main Library and holding records of stock in departmental libraries. Hours of work will be 8am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. College has its own competitive salary scale.
