The Role: Project Manager

Location: Cookstown

Salary: Competitive Benefits package commensurate with experience

Our client is an award-winning environmental engineering Company specialising in water purification,

water recycling, power conservation and distribution solutions. They provide specialist services

to water & power industries worldwide to ensure effective delivery of critical infrastructure.

The Role:

  • Assume single and trusted point of Customer contact for all assigned projects
  • Operate in line with the company Project Management framework (including Health and Safety requirements) at all times ensuring that allocated projects are delivered within the agreed scope, plan, budget and time milestones
  • Ensure awareness and compliance with all contractual arrangements for each assigned project, meeting with relevant stakeholders as required to clarify any points
  • Ensure all target project deliverables are communicated and reinforced to all relevant business functions
  • Expedite project tasks against planned timescales within each function ensuring adequate resource is assigned to meet target delivery milestones
  • Manage project costs against planned budgetary milestones taking corrective action when necessary and ensuring the finance team are aware of any changes in forecast margins
  • Communicate consistently to ensure both internal and external customers are informed of project progress and issues and ensure all parties are aware of their requirements
  • Ensure extensions of time are submitted where required and feasible
  • Close out final project ‘snags’ or outstanding works in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Look to continually improve process and product quality to better meet and set customer and market expectations
  • Identify, track, monitor and communicate project-related issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the implementation of a project and report this regularly to relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain current working knowledge of project management best practice.

The Criteria:

  • A degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a mechanical or electrical project management role
  • Proven experience in driving large, complex projects to completion within project targets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internally and externally
  • The ability to exercise sound judgment in responding to enquiries
  • Strong self-motivation with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames.
  • The ability to adapt to frequent priority changes
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness
  • Ability to create detailed programme of work using Microsoft Project or equivalent
