Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen, assisting the Head Chef in overseeing food preparation and production while ensuring that our high standards of quality and presentation are met. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff.
- Oversee food preparation and ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
- Help develop new menu items and contribute creative ideas for seasonal offerings.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensure timely service during peak hours while maintaining quality control.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Cook or Sous Chef in a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary arts.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Familiarity with hospitality industry standards and practices.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills with an emphasis on cleanliness and food safety.
- Passion for food production and creativity in menu development.
