Locum Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to join our dynamic and supportive multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for the assessment, care planning, and delivery of high-quality care to service users with severe and enduring mental illness. You will act as a care coordinator for a designated caseload, ensuring effective and person-centred interventions are provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Multi-disciplinary Collaboration: Be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team, supporting the assessment, care planning, and ongoing review for service users.
  • Care Coordination: Act as a care coordinator for an agreed caseload of service users with severe and enduring mental illness, ensuring that all aspects of care are effectively managed and delivered.
  • Assessment & Treatment: Undertake ongoing assessment, treatment, and evaluation for service users known to the service, ensuring that care plans are up-to-date and responsive to changing needs.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Support the delivery of therapeutic interventions, either individually or in a group setting, helping service users to manage and improve their mental health.
  • Service Transformation: Contribute to the team’s transformation to deliver local, evidence-based care, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery and best practices are followed.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with active NMC registration.
  • Experience working with individuals with severe and enduring mental illness.
  • Strong skills in assessment, care coordination, and care planning.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in delivering therapeutic interventions and supporting service users in both individual and group settings.
  • Knowledge of local and national mental health services, as well as evidence-based interventions.
