Job Overview

The company is divided into 4 entities: 3 in England and 1 in the Dominican Republic and belongs to the Italian FILA group, world leader in creativity tools and products for children.
The Bracknell factory is a manufacturer of art products including pads and spiral books, mountboards, Inks, Gouache colours, Acrylic, Watercolour and oil paints. The Lovelace site is 5 min from the factory and is the Warehouse and Distribution center for finished goods. Our site at Dudley is a manufacturer and warehouse of printed paper and border rolls.
The manufacturing site in Bracknell uses a wide range of machinery including mixers, mills, filling machines, high-speed packing, laminators and paper converting equipment. The activity at the Bracknell site is increasing and we are looking for a multi-skilled engineer to reinforce the engineering team (a team of 5), to help with installing the extra equipment on-site and to maintain them after their installation.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain various systems within our facility. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to ensuring the operational efficiency of all equipment.
Duties
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, utilising logic for effective diagnosis.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts used.
- Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex systems.
- Experience with fault finding on PLC systems / HMI.
- Proficient in customer service skills, ensuring a positive experience for internal stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems
- Ability to manage a varied workload
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining equipment records.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication within the team.
- Electrical certification and valid forklift license would be advantageous.
