Freight forwarding is a $200B+ industry you might not know about, but it’s the backbone of the global economy, ensuring goods move seamlessly around the world. Freight forwarders—like DHL, FedEx, and UPS—act as “travel agents” for goods, managing the complex operations that keep supply chains running.

Surprisingly, this critical industry remains largely untouched by modern software, with many processes still managed manually or through outdated systems. The eco-system is so fragile that one missed email can disrupt an entire shipment, leading to delays, poor service, and financial losses.

At Raft, we’re building an AI platform to automate freight operations. From auditing invoices and preparing customs filings to syncing information across systems, we empower operators to work more efficiently and accurately. The impact? We’re looking for a product marketer who is a great storyteller, can transform complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives, and understands how to translate value into a strategic positioning. This person will play a key role in packaging and launching the next-gen AI version of our product, ensuring it stands out as the category leader.

Role Overview:

As a Product Marketer, you will be responsible for defining and communicating the value of our products to the market. You will craft compelling narratives, develop go-to-market (GTM) strategies, and ensure that our messaging resonates with our target audience. Your role sits at the intersection of product, marketing, and sales—helping drive adoption, differentiation, and category leadership.

Day to Day You Will:

  • Positioning & Messaging: Develop clear, compelling messaging that articulates the unique value of our product and differentiates it in the market.
  • Storytelling: Transform complex product features into engaging narratives that connect with customers and drive demand.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Lead and execute GTM strategies for new product launches, ensuring cross-functional alignment.
  • Sales Enablement: Create sales collateral, presentations, and training materials to equip the sales team with the right messaging and tools.
  • Market & Customer Insights: Conduct market research, analyze customer needs, and track industry trends to inform positioning and strategy.
  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitors and craft strategies to highlight our advantages.
  • Content & Demand Generation: Collaborate with content, growth, and brand teams to develop campaigns, case studies, and thought leadership.

We specifically want someone who has:

  • Past experience in product marketing in scale ups, strong passion and grit to win big time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - there is a heavy amount of writing and presenting/selling ideas in this role
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Prefer working in a fast-paced, collaborative capacity. This role requires you to work across functions and departments to bring the product to life in a clear and compelling manner
  • Excellent market research skills and the ability to gain insight into the customers’ needs and experiences
  • Outstanding marketing and communication skills for connecting with audiences and growing relationships with them
  • Excellent copywriting and design skills to produce compelling sales material for both online and print media
  • Accurate analytical skills for evaluating and discovering effective marketing strategies
  • Familiar with product marketing tactics (e.g. integrated marketing campaigns)
  • Working knowledge of web analytics tools (Google Analytics, WebTrends)
