We are looking for an experienced Project Controls Manager to join our Capital Programme team at AWE Nuclear Security Technologies.
Package: £ 48,030 - £56,000 dependant on experience
Location: RG7 4PR , located between Reading and Basingstoke
AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. We will consider flexible working requests so that your work may fit in with your lifestyle. Just let us know your preferred working pattern on your application.
Work Schedule: Hybrid, flexible, with on-site presence up to 3 days per week
Clearance: Developed Vetting (DV) clearance required (paid for by AWE)
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Controls Manager to join our team in Reading, Berkshire. This role is essential in ensuring our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Introducing the role:
As a Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, cost management, and risk management of our projects. This role is not for Project Managers; we are specifically looking for professionals with a strong background in Project Controls.
You will be line managing a team of Project Planners within Operations Management Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets
- Monitoring project progress and performance
- Conducting cost analysis and risk assessments
- Preparing and presenting project control reports
- Collaborating with project teams to ensure effective project control practices
- Supporting the development and implementation of project control processes and tools
A Typical Day
Your day might start with a review of project schedules and budgets, followed by a team meeting to review project progress and any potential issues. You could be analysing project data, updating schedules, and preparing cost reports. Your engagement skills will ensure effective collaboration with various departments, providing insights and recommendations to keep projects on track. You could be attending risk assessment sessions, ensuring that potential risks are identified and mitigated. Each day, you will have contributed to the successful management of our projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
We’d like you to have some of the following experience or qualifications:
- Proven experience in project controls, including planning, scheduling, and cost management is key
- Performance management and coaching skills
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Proficiency in project control software and tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A collegiate approach
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
