The Opportunity:

Due to continued success in delivering ecology/environmental oversight to construction projects, we are looking to appoint experienced site/construction-based ecologists. The role will be open to people seeking 6-month contracts, 12-month contracts or permanent contracts.

In this exciting role you will:

  • Be an integral member of our client’s delivery teams on our major infrastructure projects;
  • Work alongside ecologists and engineers;
  • Be responsible for ecology data collection;
  • Be responsible for the design and implementation of ecology mitigation (e.g. management plans, non-licensed method statements, licensed method statements);
  • Be responsible for delivering pragmatic and timely solutions to ecological constraints;
  • Procure and engage with subcontractors.

As the successful candidate you will:

  • Hold a degree in ecology or a related discipline;
  • Hold a white CSCS card;
  • Have a minimum of 12 months experience of the same type of work;
  • Hold, or be working towards, ‘qualifying member’ status, or higher, of CIEEM;
  • Have a flexible approach to work and a willingness to develop new ecology field skills, including during unsocial hours (e.g. overnight bat surveys) and often away from home (expenses paid);
  • Be willing to work away from home for 3-4 nights a week in paid-for hotels or self-catering accommodation;
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team;
  • A full UK driving licence.

  • 1.5x pay for work carried out during unsocial hours (10pm – 6am);
