Events and Marketing Administrator

Reporting to the Head of Events, this role is central to the success of our team. You will be working within a fast-growing collaborative administrative hub of colleagues and freelance associates, delivering a range of services to the wider team. You will support internal meetings, external events and our marketing activities, working with a full range of systems and procedures such as customer databases, event management and record management systems.
You will have experience of event and marketing administration, self-discipline, professionalism and IT skills needed to succeed in a distributed team that works remotely.
Main duties and responsibilities

Supporting the core SDN team by running, improving and developing high quality administrative systems and procedures in support of SDN’s business objectives

Liaising with staff and partners to set up meetings and events, through Teams, Zoom, Eventbrite and the SDN website

Supporting events with clients and associates, both virtual and physical, to include technical support

Administration and delegate management for high-volume online events

Researching venues and organising delegate packs / papers

Uploading marketing content to the SDN website and helping to schedule social media posts

Supporting the formatting the slides and resources

Supporting the set-up of marketing mailing and newsletter templates

Assisting SDN colleagues and associates with programme and project activities

Keeping CRM records up-to-date and assisting with data collection for reports
Requirements
Experience/knowledge/skills/behaviours
Essential experience
- Administration across a range of functions and business areas
- Information and communication technologies, in particular Microsoft Office 365, Zoom, Teams and SharePoint to a high standard
- Event set-up and administration (virtual and physical)
- Marketing and communications administration (website, mailings, newsletters, social media)
- Working in groups and teams
Desirable experience
- Working in a distributed or remote team environment
- At least 3 years administrative experience
- Working with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, such as HubSpot
Essential Knowledge
- Knowledge of online event co-ordination and systems
Desirable Knowledge
- An understanding of the learning and skills sector in England, preferably including the apprenticeship and technical education system
Essential Skills
- Excellent customer service across all communication channels
- Managing and participating in online meetings and events
- Manage workload with conflicting priorities and multi-task across various projects
Essential Behaviours

- Crisp and clear written communication including excellent spelling and grammar
